What is the Sports Vouchers program?

The Sports Vouchers program is a Government of South Australia initiative administered by the Office for Recreation and Sport. The program provides an opportunity for primary school aged children from Reception to Year 9 to receive up to a $100 discount on sports membership/registration fees. The purpose is to increase the number of children playing organised sport by reducing cost as a barrier to participate in sport.

Who is eligible for the program?

All South Australian primary school aged children, meaning if the child is attending or is eligible to attend primary school. Remember it is one voucher for every primary school aged child per calendar year.

How does the program work?

At time of registration you will opt for the “I have a sports voucher button”. You will then have your fee’s reduced by $50. Your sports voucher will need to be sent to the club secretary so it can be verified that you are entitled to the reduced fee’s, if the voucher is not accepted you will be contacted and you will have to pay the outstanding $50 prior to the commencement of our first game of the season.

When will the program finish?

The Government of South Australia has approved a program for 2019. The Minister for Recreation and Sport opened the program in February 2015 with a letter to parents.

Provide Information

You must then provide all the required details to the club. The critical piece of information is your child’s eleven digit Medicare number or Australian visa number.

The most common way to give your child’s details to the club is by filling out the Sports Voucher
